All lawns build up thatch from time to time and a small amount can be beneficial to the lawn as it helps prevent evaporation, aids water retention and gives increased tolerance to wear and tear. However, when the accumulation of thatch reaches a point where it impedes water, air and fertiliser penetration, then scarifying needs to be carried out. Scarifying & Verticut From small domestic lawns and garden beds, to sports fields, schools, parks, and government reserves. Nothing is too big or too small for us. Fertilising is turf’s first line of defence against the harsh elements. All turf will need to be fertilised at some stage as nutrients in the soil are used to produce new leaf and roots.
